The new Touch Book from Always Innovating has redefined the netbook making way for a new generation of powerful portable devices.
Weighing less than 2 pounds and sporting a inch screen, the Touch Book has moved away from the world of the Intel Atom CPU and delved into the mobile power of the ARM processor from Texas Instruments, and with its custom designed battery, the Touch Book runs for up to 15 hours unplugged.
The key design feature of the Touch Book is its ability to completely separate the screen from the keyboard, allowing the screen to be used as a standalone tablet. Furthermore, the screen is magnetic and can easily be mounted on any metal surfaces.
The touch book was unveiled at DEMO 09 in California earlier this year. Always Innovating hoped to have the Touch Book on the shelves before spring, however pre-orders still being taken with no word of an official release date, we all hope to see this delightful new tablet on the market soon.
Until now, all netbooks were engineered the same way: Power-hungry Intel Atom, ugly case, and outdated 90’s OS. Our goal: To achieve a breakthrough in both architecture and design. The result: a revolutionary device that works as both a netbook and a standalone tablet thanks to a detachable keyboard and a 3D touchscreen user interface.

Laptop computer, handheld game device, e-book reader and video player, the multi form factor Touch Book with its clever multi form factors, is the perfect all-in-one second notebook.

The Touch Book uses an innovative ARM processor from Texas Instruments that delivers the power of a traditional desktop computer but uses a fraction of the energy.
Like a cellphone, it is always-on, so there is no need to reboot each time. And without noisy fans and disk drives, it’s completely silent, so it won’t intrude on your inner space.
Designed from scratch for lower power consumption, the Touch Book is not an energy-guzzling beast like other laptops. It offers an amazing 10 to 15 hours of battery life for less than 2 pounds.
Two batteries, one in each part, ensure that you will not run out of juice in the middle of your favorite movie.
The Touch Book OS has two modes: one for use with keyboard and touchpad, and one for use as a standalone touchscreen tablet. The innovative 3D interface is easy to use and does not require a stylus or a skinny pinky.
The Touch Book also includes Mozilla’s upcoming mobile browser, code-named Fennec, which was designed with touchscreens in mind.
